A Brand New Life (2009)
In 1975, 9-year-old Li Zhenxi (Jin Cailun) was sent to a Catholic women's orphanage by her father (Xue Jingqiu). Zhenxi did not understand why her father abandoned himself. he not only bought himself new clothes, but also bought a big cake, and promised to take her on a trip, but she never thought that the end of the trip was an orphanage. Although she extremely rejected the life in the orphanage, with the passage of time, the stubborn Zhenxi had to accept a new life. Jane Xi met Shuxi (Park Duyan) and Yixin (Gao Yaxing) two good friends. Shuxi always said she was only 11 years old in order to be adopted, while the 17-year-old Yixin refused to be adopted in order to often see the boys she had a crush on. Zhenxi always hopes to return to her father's side one day. However, the trajectory of fate will not be as they imagine, the journey of life only through pain can become strong, can continue to grow …... As the first Korean-French co-production, the film was shown in the special unit of the 62nd Cannes Film Festival and the 22nd Tokyo Film Festival in 2009, and in November of that year at the 3rd Asia-Pacific Film Awards in Queensland, Australia.
