A Dog Called Money (2019)

It tells the story of the creation of a record by PJ Harvey. Writer and musician Harvey teamed up with award-winning photographer Seamus Murphy. Harvey wants to write about several countries in her work, and in order to experience life in these countries, she and Murphy embarked on his global reporting trip several times. They went to Afghanistan, Kosovo and Washington together. Harvey is responsible for recording words and Murphy is responsible for taking pictures. When they got back, they made the materials into poems and songs together, and recorded them into an album in an unprecedented form at Somerset Palace in London. In a house made of unidirectional glass, the public can watch the five-week recording without taking pictures. Murphy filmed the experiment as part of their personal travel notes. The film takes the influence of the people and places they captured during the journey as the material, takes the embodiment of human nature as the core, and tells the process of turning these materials into songs and films.
