A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night (2013)

In a sinful city, a remote town that reeks of loneliness and death, only a few people still live there, lying, cheating, stealing, gambling and taking drugs every day to spend their aimless and endless time. They were all secretly praying for the most unusual vampire: an innocent-looking young girl wrapped in an Islamic hijab cruising the streets on a skateboard looking for victims to satisfy her hunger. Filmed in gorgeous and contagious black-and-white scenes, this is the first film by Ana Lily Amirpour, a writer and director living in the United States. A Western Islamic vampire, a cold and sentimental romantic comedy, is the most frightening original film of the year. "A cunning and sexy vine," he said.
