A Midsummer Night's Dream (2019)

Nicholas Hittner, artistic director of Tower Bridge Theatre, who tried the immersion experience with this Weishaw version of Julius Caesar, once again brought a contagious carnival experience to Midsummer Night's Dream: the actors clung to the swing like an acrobatic performance, the audience passed huge balloons during the strike, and the final carnival dance turned the Tower Bridge Theater into a dream disco full of sensory possibilities. This rehearsal features Gwendolan Christie, who plays Britney in the hit series Game of Thrones, starring NT Live comedian Oliver Chris ("one servant, two masters", "Twelfth Night" and "Young Carl"). The change in role and gender challenges the dichotomy between the sexes, and the excellent stage design is full of dreams, which completely ignites the contemporary nerves hidden in Shakespeare's plays and is praised by the media as "the best party of the summer". Shakespeare's most popular romantic comedy is about subverting love: Hermia, who refuses to marry from her father, escapes into the forest with her lover Lassand. Hermia rejected Demetrius and Hermia's good friend, Helena, who loved Demetrius, also followed into the forest. Unexpectedly, the fairy queen in the forest was at odds with each other. Under the mockery of the magic juice of the naughty elves, the love of the four people turned upside down, their friends turned into rivals, and even the fairy queen fell in love with a donkey who had changed from a weaver.
