Steven Taylor (Michael Douglas Michael Douglas) is a Wall Street millionaire whose money and status never satisfy him. He longs for the faithful love of his wife Emily (Gwyneth Paltrow Gwyneth Paltrow), but never hesitates to express his love for her. Emily, who is both beautiful and talented, does not want to be a vase around her husband. After work, she accidentally meets the talented poor painter David Shaw (Viggo Mortensen Viggo Mortensen), from whom she tastes the passion of love that her husband has never given. However, the frequent tryst was finally detected by Taylor. The temptation of jealousy and the huge insurance money behind his wife made Taylor gradually come up with the idea of killing his wife. He carefully planned a super-perfect murder case. However, no matter how perfect the plan could not catch up with the change, a cat-and-mouse game had just begun. This film is a remake of the 1954 classic "perfect murder" by suspense master Hitchcock.
