In the past, when South Africa still adopted the policy of black-and-white apartheid, the West made a lot of films attacking this policy, and this film is one of the best, adapted from a real story. Through the eyes of Molly, the 13-year-old daughter of white journalist Dana, the plot observes the inhumane special situation of South African society at that time, and sets off a serious theme with rich and moving emotional scenes. Molly's father fled the country after engaging in an opposition movement to evade official capture, while her mother was imposed by the South African government under the 90-day detention law, becoming the first white woman to be detained for opposing black-and-white segregation. Separated from her family for a long time, she was forced to confess and refused to confess her comrades. At one point, she tried to kill herself by taking medicine. Molly and her two sisters were also closely monitored under the care of their grandmother, resembling a broken family. Through her mother's explanation and her own experience, the grieving Molly gradually understood why her parents were engaged in the opposition movement.
