After Midnight (2004)

In Turin, the lives of several young people are intertwined but do not know each other for a while. On the minaret of Antonelli, Martino (Giorgio Pasotti), the administrator of the National Film Museum, immerses himself in a private movie world. He seems to be silent because he has been immersed in the image for too long. Martino buys hamburgers he has no interest in every night in order to meet his favorite fast food clerk Amanda (Francesca Inaudi). Amanda's boyfriend, the car thief nicknamed "Angel" (Fabio Troiano), did not have more energy to accompany his girlfriend, which finally reached the limit of Amanda's patience for boring life, scalded the manager with hot water, and the panicked Amanda hid in the film museum. Thus into Martino's silent but wonderful world: like the room copied from Keaton's movie, the protagonist is her super-8 movie, and the light and shadow changes like a dream. Amanda was deeply moved but returned to her old life. Martino plucked up the courage to find an angel, and the two decided to hand over the choice to Amanda. This film won many awards such as Director Forum Award and Don Quixote Award at the 2004 Berlin Film Festival.
