Roe v. Wade, one of the famous cases of the United States Supreme Court in the 20th century, recognized that women's right to abortion is protected by the Constitution. The key character in the case, Norma McCorvey (alias Jane Roe), became pregnant unexpectedly but was banned from having an abortion and sued the Texas judiciary for violating his right to privacy. Years later, McCorvey joined the anti-abortion movement, and his position changed 180 degrees.
