William (Patrick Fugit Patrick Fugit), a top student, gets the opportunity to write an interview for Rolling Stone magazine before graduation. He will follow the rock band's itinerary for a long trip and reporting. Mother was worried about the bad style of the rock band and was firmly opposed to William's decision. William stubbornly hit the road. He interviewed members of the band Stillwater, a group of young people who had not yet become famous and had dreams of going to concerts all over the country.
