Dave (Adam Sandler Adam Sandler) has a gentle appearance and a beautiful girlfriend Linda (Marissa Tomei Marisa Tomei). But when he lost his temper during a flight, he was sent to "emotion management" training. The psychiatrist in charge of the course, Buddy (Jack Nicholson Jack Nicholson), is a little crazy himself. He single-handedly founded the theory and treatment center of "emotion management", and the related books are selling well. The patients in the center were all grumpy, and Buddy kept forcing Dave to do something that was almost crazy, making Dave feel that he was going to be driven crazy if not mad. The court decided that Dave's progress was too slow to send him to prison. Forced into a desperate situation, Dave had to put up with Buddy's stimulation therapy. Dave felt that his limit was coming. He hesitated between retreating and sealing his heart, or bravely facing his complete two choices. In the end, will the running-in adjustment between Dr. Buddy and his patient Dave be full of willows and flowers, or will he be caught in an endless inner black hole?
