In 1862, Anna, a young widowed British female teacher, came to Siam and became a tutor to the royal family. At first, Anna encountered many seemingly insurmountable difficulties because of her different customs and culture, and the king was similar to a "barbarian" to her. With the in-depth exchanges between the two, although there are still many discord, but they gradually won mutual respect, she became the king's close friend and diplomatic adviser, and collided with the spark of love.
