Any Day Now (2012)

Musician Rudy (Alan Cumming Alan Cumming) meets District Attorney Paul (Garrett Dilahut Garret Dillahunt) while engaged in a cross-dressing show, and the two fall in love at first sight. When Rudy came home in the evening, he was so noisy by his neighbors that he couldn't rest. When he complained angrily, he was surprised to find that there was only a short and fat boy named Marco (Isaac Leva Isaac Leyva) in the room. Rudy tried to contact Paul to discuss countermeasures, but because of Marco's congenital mental retardation, his mother was arrested for taking drugs, and soon the Family Welfare Department took Marco away. Later, when Rudy and Paul saw Marco wandering alone on the street, they took the boy home without much consideration. After repeated discussions, the two decided to adopt Marco to provide him with a stable living environment. Unexpectedly, the court discovered their sexual orientation in the process of reviewing guardianship, and the legal system was like a shackle to sever their relationship with the boy who had special obstacles but who they regarded as their own. This film is based on a true story and is set in California in the 1970s.
