This film is the sixth time that famous movie star Peter Ustinov plays Detective Poirot. The original work was written in 1938. Together with Christie's two other works, Sin in the Sun and murder in the Caribbean, this film forms a unique island murder trilogy. In the book, a female tyrant is murdered, and all her family members are suspected of murder. In the end, Detective Poirot finds out the real culprit through careful reasoning. It is worth mentioning that Humphrey Bogart's wife, the famous Hollywood movie star Lauren Bacall was invited to play a rich woman in the film, which played a key role in solving the case.
