The fugitive criminal Bruno was sheltered by morphine addicted Agnes. Agnes's husband, Pascal, is working as a policeman to restore his reputation by arresting Bruno. When Pascal met and fell in love with his wife's colleague, Cecile, a school teacher, his already strained relationship with Agnes became even more strained. Faced with Pascal's focus on Bruno and Cecil, Agnes had to make his own decision.
