Ashug-Karibi (1988)
Sergei Parajenov was born in 1924 in Tbilisi, Georgia, the former Soviet Union, to Armenian parents. From an early age, he showed his sensitivity to color and his divine talent for painting. Apart from painting, he has been interested in movies and music since he was a child. In 1945, at the age of 21, studying in Moscow was a turning point in his life. He entered the director department of the Russian Film Academy (VGIK) to learn to make films. This is a famous film school with a long history and has contributed a large number of film masters to the European continent. He later became an assistant to the teacher du Fu Renke, the ancestor of Soviet poetry and film, and both Tarkovsky and Parajenov benefited from his teachings.
