On June 5, 1967, Israel unexpectedly launched the third Middle East War against neighboring Arab countries and won the victory within six days. After Egypt declared the war lost, several Egyptian soldiers who lacked water and food wanted to cross the Israeli-occupied Sinai Desert to Suez and return to the peaceful zone. This film is the debut of Israeli director Rafi Bukai, who has few works. He presents this "humanitarian, anti-war, and apolitical" work from the perspective of several Egyptian soldiers. The film won an award at the 1986 Locaro Film Festival in Switzerland, and represented Israel in the Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film that same year. (by 54f8in)
