Ba mùa (1999)

This film describes three love songs of Vietnamese scenery: in spring, Xin, a girl from the countryside, is employed by a large family as a girl to pick white lotus flowers. Looking at the scenery of Lotus Dang every day, she would hum folk songs with other female workers. Her singing attracted Mr. du, who was suffering from leprosy. When she copied poems for him, the two had lost friends; during the dry season, the tricycle driver Hai accidentally met the prostitute lotus. She always describes to him the luxury life in a star hotel, but he just stares at her. Slowly, the relationship between the two men changes subtly; during the rainy season, Vietnam War veteran James (Harvey Keitel Harvey Keitel) meets Woody, a salesman in a bar, and finds a Vietnam lighter in his merchandise. James told Woody about his separation from his wife and daughter. Since then, both of them have gained something from their respective feelings. 1999 Sundance Film Festival jury Award, Best Photography Award, 2000 American Independent Spirit Award, Best Photography Award.
