The elderly botanist Zhouji Miyagi (Ichiro Kanai) and his family live in the area of Kamakura. The eldest son Kangichi (Lizhiro) is a doctor at a hospital in Tokyo, and his daughter Noriko (Hara Jieko) works in the Tokyo Maruchi Trading Company. He acts as the secretary to the manager Sazuki Songtaro (Sano Tuesday). Young, beautiful and generous, Noriko has reached the marriageable age, and all her friends have got married one after another, but she is still unmarried. For the sake of Ji Zi's marriage, the parents and brothers made their own intentions, and the manager Zuozhu also introduced her to her elder son, the real pot. However, Ji Zi is alone in love with her brother's colleague Keiji Yagi (Liu Huan, an ordinary university)-a man who is widowed with a three-year-old daughter and is cash-strapped. The film won four awards for Best Actress in Blue Ribbon (Hara Jieko), Best Photography, Best Director and Best supporting Actress (Haruko Sugimura) in 1952; Best Picture in 1952; Best Actress and Best Picture in Daily Film in 1952.
