King Josephine (voiced by Christopher Gaze) has twelve beautiful daughters. While enjoying the joy of their families, the king began to worry about the future fate of the twelve overly lively little princesses. In order for the princesses to grow up healthily, the king found the Duchess Rowena (voiced by Catherine O'Hara Catherine O'Hara) and asked her to be their "teacher", hoping that the real aristocratic lady would lead the girls on the right path. Living in the court for a long time, Rowena developed a rigorous and conservative personality, not to mention the strict rules she laid down, the prohibition of dancing in the palace alone was enough to give the princesses a headache. By chance, the princesses found a secret passage to a magical land where they could dance freely. When the news of the king's illness came, the anxious princesses said they would never sit idly by, for only they could save their father.
