In the small town of Pasek, New Jersey where the jazz master "Fatty Waller" grew up, Fletcher (Danny Glover Danny Glover) sticks to a video rental store in the tide of commercialization, black guy Mike (Moss Duff Mos Def) and the town's neurotic jobless Jerry (Jack Blake Jack Black) stay in the video store all day. Jerry recently felt that the microwave radiation from the power plant was controlling the residents of the town, so he asked Mike to blow up the power plant with him, but Mike, who was entrusted by Fletcher to take care of the store, flinched, resulting in Jerry's mission failure. Jerry has since become a "magnetized man", and the videotape has all been lost because of Jerry's magnetization! Regular customer Miss Felowitz (Mya Farrow Mia Farrow) calls Fletcher every day. In order not to let Fletcher find out what happened in the store, Mike and Jerry pretend to be business as usual. They have to start making their own movies to hide from Fletcher and small-town movie fans.
