Beijing Taxi is director Wang Miao's first feature film documentary. Wang Miao graduated from the University of Chicago with an undergraduate degree in economics and later settled in New York. She worked in photography and design. Out of her love of film, she obtained a graduate degree in film and design from the Parsons Academy of Arts. In 2007, she shot her first documentary, Yellow Ox Mountain, which has been shown at more than 20 film festivals around the world. And won the award for best short documentary at the Dallas Asian Film Festival. Wang Miao also edited programs for National Geographic Magazine and made two documentaries for architect Steven Holl. She also works as an assistant in Maysles. (MAYSLES is famous for gathering a large number of famous documentary directors, known as the legendary palace of documentary directors.) the film is about the lives of three taxi drivers in Beijing during the two years before the Olympic Games, reflecting from their perspective that Beijing is hosting the Olympic Games.
