Beyond the Walls (2012)

The steady pianist Paul (Matila Malliarakis) meets the melancholy double bass player Ilir (Guillaume Gouix), and the two fall in love with each other at first sight. Paul left his girlfriend, Ilir gave up living alone, and they moved into a small apartment where two people with different personalities and interests were content to love each other. Until one day Enlil asked Paul to swear that he would love him for the rest of his life, and then left the city to attend a concert. The cruel separation and waiting made Paul get used to the days without Lear. By the time Ilir walked out of the cold walls of the prison, things had changed. Even though the throbbing of the past remains in their hearts, there is no turning back. This is the first feature-length film written and directed by Belgian director David Lambert. It tells the story of a young pianist and a double bass player composing romantic songs, but the happy time is stopped by a sudden accident. David Lambert, who majored in language and Roman literature in college, was a well-known local screenwriter before becoming a director in 2009.
