Black Peter (1964)
Milos Forman's blockbuster debut, "Black Peter", not only won the first prize at the Lucano Film Festival, but also was regarded as one of the first works of the Czech New Wave. The film uses the father's questioning and helplessness of the boy's growth, a metaphor for the surveillance and control of the communist society. "Black Peter" uses non-professional actors and impromptu conversations to take photos in the street, showing a relaxed and humorous satirical fable. The story tells the story of Peter, a 16-year-old summer intern in a supermarket, who ran into theft on his first day at work but dared not identify it. Instead, he just wanted to flirt with the girl by the pool, nagging his father and boss to make life difficult. Milos Foreman added interesting experiments of prom and comedy to Black Peter, capturing the subtle interaction between characters, thus laying the foundation for a future master imprint.
