Blue Note Records: Beyond the Notes (2018)
This film explores the unique concept of "Blue tone", a famous jazz record company. Alfred Leon and Francis Wolf, Jewish refugees from Germany, founded the Blue tone Jazz label in New York in 1939 to give musicians full freedom and encourage them to innovate actively. In the film, Jazz's past is very different from the present. Today, recording is more innovative, providing an opportunity to innovate jazz, with legendary jazz masters Herbie Hancock and Wayne short teaming up with contemporary outstanding "blue tone" musicians to record all-star albums. The film uses some valuable historical images, current recordings and conversations between "Blue tone" musicians and other relevant people to enable audiences to see the behind-the-scenes production work and show a passionate spirit of pursuit. this is particularly important in today's political environment.
