Ned Racine (William hurt William Hurt) is a slick, incompetent and lecherous Florida lawyer. At a concert, Ned meets the married name Maddie Walker (Katherine Turner Kathleen Turner). Their affair makes Ned crazy, and he finally decides to get rid of Tracy McGrady's husband, tycoon Edmund Walker (Richard Kleiner Richard Crenna), and run away after helping Tracy McGrady inherit the property. After the murder, Ned's good friend, prosecuting lawyer Pete (Ted Danson Ted Danson) and Detective Oscar (J A Preston J.A. Preston) opposed Ned's continued relationship with McGrady and had to open an investigation into Edmund Walker's death. The situation is more and more beyond Ned's expectation. Can he trust Tracy McGrady? The film was nominated for Best New Star of the year at the Golden Globes (Katherine Turner) and Best New Star at the British Film and Television Association Awards (Katherine Turner).
