The Breeders, a parenting light comedy starring Martin Martin Freeman and Daisy Haggard, explores a paradox that every parent knows but never admits: you are willing to die for your children, but many times you want to kill them. Martin plays Paul, who is a loving father; Daisy plays Ellie, Paul's work partner who runs a recording studio, and they fall in love and get married. But life doesn't always go well. Paul and Ellie are busy working full-time, taking care of children, repaying loans, taking care of parents and a series of upheavals. When Ellie's estranged father Michael showed up on the doorstep, it meant the family had another "child" to raise. Paul's parents were willing to help at any time, but the couple raised differently.
