David Huxley (Gary Grant Cary Grant), a paleontologist who works in the museum, has recently been smug: he is about to marry his girlfriend, has worked so hard to get a dinosaur bone, and the museum is about to receive a donation from Mrs. Random. However, his luck seems to be "over" the moment he meets Susan Vance (Katherine Hepburn Katharine Hepburn). Susan is a rich girl. Her brother just sent her a leopard named Bbay from South America and asked her to bring the leopard to her aunt. Susan insisted that David was a zoologist and asked him to send Baby to his aunt's house as far away as Connecticut.
