Burn (2019)

Cen Yongkang and Hiro Fernandez joined the new thriller Plume, starring Josh Hutchison, Sookie Waterhouse and Tilda Gerham-Harvey, and Chinese Mike Gan wrote and directed himself. The story revolves around a lonely, emotionally unstable gas station attendant Melinda (Harvey), who is tired of being covered up by her more confident and extroverted colleague Sheila (Waterhouse). When a desperate man, Billy (Hutchison) hijacks a gas station with a gun, Melinda finds a chance to connect with him, whether or not anyone is hurt. Cen Yongkang plays Police Officer Liu, who is moral, upright and infatuated by Melinda. Fernandez, who plays Sheila boyfriend Perry, is inadvertently involved in her dangerous game. This is Mike Gan's first feature film, after his short film "No Evil" appeared at the Toronto Film Festival and the Palm Springs Film Festival.
