This film is a modern adaptation of Jack London's famous short story of the same name. The parents of Ryan, an American girl, recently went abroad, so they sent her to her grandfather in the Montana Mountains. One night, an injured wild mongrel appeared on his grandfather's porch. Ryan wanted to take it back to his home in Boston as a pet, but Grandpa knew that the animal would eventually return to nature. In order to make Ryan understand this fact, Grandpa began to read Jack London's call of the Wild to Ryan every night. But Ryan had her own idea, and she worked with a local boy to train the dog to be a sled dog. However, someone tried to take the dog for himself.
