Calling Dr. Death (1943)
In the 1940s, Universal launched a low-cost suspense TV series, the Mystery of the Inner Sanctuary. The film is based on the popular suspense radio program at that time, starring Xiaolang Chaney. Summoning the Doctor of the Dead is the first part of the series. Since the original program was only 30 minutes long, in order to adapt it into a longer film, the producers added a lot of scenes and character dialogue to expand the story into an hour. In addition, in order to promote the gimmick, the company also starred Lang Cheney, the father of Xiaolang Chaney. The first synopsis: when his wife was disfigured and killed, he undoubtedly became the key suspect of the police, but he lost his memory for two days.
