Cane Fire (2020)

The White Heat Kill in 1934 marked the beginning of Hollywood's landing on the island of Hawaii. In the decades that followed, more than 100 Hollywood films were filmed on the Hawaiian island of Kauai. In a conversation between the director and his great-grandfather, the film Fire of Ganlin reviews the history of the transformation of Kauai from farming to entertainment in Kauai, Hawaii. the director interweaves the family history of four generations with famous Hollywood film history works. it recreates the history of Hawaiian aborigines and aboriginal culture occupied and engulfed by capital and colonialism, creating a kaleidoscope of economy and culture.
