Kalandilu in S ã o Paulo is the largest prison in Latin America. Kalandiru, which has been overloaded for 7,000 prisoners for a long time, has a harsh environment and is like a criminal society with its own system. The simple medical facilities in the prison cannot prevent the transmission of diseases between prisoners. A doctor came here to implement a medical plan to prevent AIDS, thus revealing the past experiences of many prisoners. Drug dealer Zick (Wagner Moura) intends to quit after entering the prison, but the environment drags him into the whirlpool of drugs again; the prisoner "Lady" (Rodrigo Santoro Rodrigo Santoro) falls in love with the doctor's assistant in prison and finally gets married; the robber Milo is betrayed by his wife and kills many people in prison; the tramp Haines commits the crime of arson for love. A series of human tragedies converged on Kalandilu, and the repressed crowd finally broke out an eye-popping prison riot. The film is based on a prison riot in Brazil in 1992.
