This medium-sized child dispute brought together two couples who had nothing in common. Mike Longstreet (John C. Riley John C Reilly), who runs a small department store, and Penelope (Judy Foster Jodie Foster), a writer, are Ethan's parents who welcome Zachary's parents-lawyer Alan Cowen (Christopher Waltz Christoph Waltz) and investment broker Nancy (Kate Winslet KateWinslet)-at home. They negotiate, discuss, argue, mock, beat around the bush about their children's injuries, sometimes forced to smile and sometimes unhappy, but they have to spend this difficult and painful day face to face. The film won the Best Group performance Award at the 2011 Boston Film critics Award and the Little Golden Lion Award at the 2011 Venice Film Festival.
