Come from Away (2017)
The Tony Award-winning Broadway musical "Come from Away" will be adapted into a film, The Mark Gordon Company will invest in production, the original author and songwriter Irene Sankoff and David Hein will write the script, and the director Christopher Ashley will also direct the film. Set after 9 / 11, 38 planes accidentally landed in the Canadian town of Gander,7000 in Newfoundland and Labrador province. Under the condition of being grounded, the residents of the town warmly welcomed and accepted all the passengers, and their generosity and kindness stood in sharp contrast to the terrorist attacks. Cultures collide, people's emotions run high, insecurity turns into trust, music rings through the night, and gratitude eventually forms a long-term friendship. The musical was a great success with excellent reviews, was nominated for seven Tony Awards and finally won the award for best musical director.
