New York Police Department veteran detective Jimmy (Bruce Willis Bruce Willis) believes that silence is golden and meticulous in handling cases. He has a black partner, Paul (Trish Morgan Tracy Morgan), who has just been promoted to an agent and thinks that Obama has become president of the United States. He not only dictates to the petty thieves, but also has less respect for the veteran detectives. Jimmy and Paul joined forces to attack because of a precious baseball card theft in 1952. But this time the trouble doesn't seem to be that easy to deal with. During the investigation, a series of cases surfaced, including the kidnapping of beautiful women in Mexico, drug trafficking by gangsters, and so on. As a matter of fact, the pair did not go through any big storm, so it was as if they were facing a big enemy this time. Moreover, they all showed symptoms of a fire in the backyard: Jimmy inexplicably lost a large sum of money for his daughter's wedding, while Paul, though like a stupid goose, was suspected of having an affair by his wife. This kind of thing upset the two men very much. They have to explain their innocence to their families while working on a case. This dilemma of being busy at both ends is driving them crazy.
