Cranford (2007 - 2009)
The story takes place in the town of Cranford in June 1842. Miss Jackie (Judy Dench Judi Dench) is preparing nervously and meticulously to meet her new resident, the daughter of a former friend, Mary (Lisa Dillon). For this conformist town, no news can excite people more than the arrival of a stranger. Miss Poirot, the know-it-all (Imelda Staunton Imelda Staunton) is also one of them. Jesse (Julia Savahar Julia Sawalha), the eldest daughter of Colonel Brown (Jim Carter Jim Carter), refuses several marriages because she doesn't want to leave her lonely father, and the enthusiastic Mary decides to help the kind girl.
