Richard (Lionel Stander Lionel Stander) and Albie are driving. Albie's gun hits him, and Richard can only go to the nearby island for help. There is a couple living on the island: George (Donald Prissens Donald Pleasence) and Teresa (Francois Fran ç oise Dorl é ac). Teresa is naughty and playful, while George is cowardly and incompetent. The two buried the dead Albie together under the threat of Richard and waited with Richard for someone sent by his boss Carter to pick him up. Soon after, George's old friends came to the island to visit him, and Richard pretended to be their gardener. The growing contradiction between them and Richard finally led to a bloody tragedy. This film won the Golden Bear Award at the 1966 Berlin Film Festival.
