Dark Winds (2022 - 2023)
The play is based on Tony Hillerman's "Leaphorn & Chee" series of novels and has a screenwriting studio with a lineup of Native Americans. Created by Graham Roland (Jack Lane), Vince Calandra as the show operator, and Chris Eyre as the pilot director, the trio will work with George R.R. Martin, Robert Redford and star Zahn McClarnon to produce. The story takes place in 1971 at a remote outpost on the Navajo reservation near the Monumente Valley. Lieutenant Joe Leaphorn (Zahn McClarnon) in the tribal marshal is overwhelmed by a series of seemingly unrelated cases. The closer he gets to the truth, the more he reveals his past wounds. Leaphorn and new police officer Jim Chee (Kiowa Gordon) are investigating these cases, and Chee also has some accommodation on the reservation when he is young.
