Daughter of the Nile (1987)
Young girl Lin Xiaoyang (Yang Lin) likes to read comics and often fantasizes that she is the protagonist of the girl comic book "daughter of the Nile" by Tomoko Hosokawa. She lives in bustling Taipei, works as a shop assistant at KFC during the day and studies at night school. Xiaoyang lives in a humble bungalow with his family. His grandfather (Li Tianlu) is a funny old man. Father (Cui Fusheng) works as a police officer in Chiayi and is on duty all the year round. After her mother died, Xiaoyang took up the responsibility of being a mother, taking care of her elderly father and her sister who went to school, and worried about her brother all day. Brother (Gao Jie) runs a restaurant with friends, works during the day and works as a thief at night, but can take care of his family. When a conflict broke out between his father and his brother, Xiaoyang always sided with his brother. She has a crush on her brother's friend Ah San, but she doesn't know that A San loves someone else. The facts made her feel angry, sad and desperate, and mature and sober after being hit.
