Sir George (Tim Pigot-Smith) and Heidi (Nicollette Sheridan) decide to hold a lively country garden party. In order to push the atmosphere of the garden party to a climax, they decide to set up a murder game. Well-known crime novelist Aridden (Jean Stapleton) agrees to provide some good ideas for the game. She decides to set the scene of the case at the Nasser Estate where Sir George lives, and gives the role of the victim of the case to 14-year-old Marlene (Sandra Dickinson). However, just as everything is going according to plan, Herchule (Peter Ustinov) receives a call from Mrs. Areden, her most trusted friend. On the phone, Mrs. Areden admitted that the murder game she had set could turn into a real tragedy.
