Sarajevo, 28 June 2014. At the Hotel Europa, the best hotel in the city, the manager, Omer, is preparing to welcome an VIP diplomatic delegation. On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Sarajevo incident, the demand for peaceful coexistence and mutual understanding should start from this city. However, the hotel staff had another worry: they decided to go on strike because their wages had been in arrears for months. Hatidza, who works in the laundry room, was chosen as the strike leader, although her daughter Lamija, who works at the hotel receptionist, firmly opposed the decision to strike. Meanwhile, a French guest is rehearsing his speech in the blockaded presidential suite. Another television reporter is producing an interview about World War I and its impact: was Gavrilo Princip, who assassinated Archduke Ferdinand in 1914, a criminal or a national hero? What is the long-term impact of his assassination today? With "A Page of Life" selected as the main competition unit of the Berlin Film Festival in 2013, director Dennis Tanovic tells a satirical fable about political dreams and nightmares. From the basement corridor to the sunny balcony, the director delineated in detail.
