People of all ethnic groups live in the Brooklyn black community in New York: blacks, Italian immigrants, Koreans. Italian immigrant Sal (Danny Ayro Danny Aiello) and his two sons have run a pizza shop here for a long time. Mookie (Spike Lee Spike Lee) is in charge of takeout in the store, often having trouble with Sal's son. Radio Raheem (Bill Nunn) is a young man who likes to walk around with a radio playing music loudly. On a hot day, the black guy Buggin' Out (Giancarlo Esposito Giancarlo Esposito) finds that there is not a black man in the picture of a celebrity hanging on the wall of the pizzeria, while Radio comes to the pizzeria and is asked by Sal to turn off the radio. Disgruntled Buggin' Out and Raido decide to ask Sal for an explanation. During the argument, Sal smashes Radio's radio. Raido was furious and got into a fight with Sal. The police came and the onlookers became more and more.
