Dreams That Money Can Buy (1947)

The impoverished Joe (Jack Bittner is acted the role of) gets the mysterious inspiration in the narrow bedroom, in order to make a living, he starts the business of selling dreams. People crowded to his door, and a bank clerk dreamed of a woman haunted by nightingales; a girl obsessed with signing bills saw the love of an assembly line model; the employee's wife hallucinated to talk to a gentleman and hosted a silent film; the twirling circle appeared in front of the intruder, which seemed to symbolize desire; the girl and the blind old man brought Joe strange wire toys. Joe saw all the guests away, and then he fell into a dream. He got out of a strange card game and found himself facing an even more mysterious encounter. The film was completed by Hans Richter with the cooperation of several artists such as Duchamp, Calder and Max Ernst, and won a special award at the Venice Film Festival in 1947.
