In a small coastal town in England, there lived three women also named Cece Colpitz. The 60-year-old Cece (Joan Plowright) finds her husband Jack (Bryan Pringle) openly having a rendezvous with another woman at home on his birthday, then drowns Jack in the bathtub while Jack is drunk. 25-year-old Cece (Juliet Stevenson Juliet Stevenson) and her husband Hardy (Trevor Cooper) live a life of pampering, but Hardy is a fat and celibate guy who drowns him in the sea angrily. Shortly after 19-year-old swimmer Cece (Julie Richardson Joely Richardson) married his lover Bellamy (David Morrissey), Bellamy suspected that the other two Cece had killed their husbands, and coroner Margit (Bernard Hill Bernard Hill) also played a trick. In order to protect her companions, Cece drowned her husband in the pool. This film won the Best Art contribution Award at the Cannes Film Festival in 1988 and 1991.
