At the entrance examination site of an art high school in New York City, a large number of young people with artistic dreams hope to embark on a new journey in life after passing instrumental music, performance and dance exams. Candidates have obvious differences in style and personality, turning a serious entrance test into an accident-prone comedy. Bruno, who is obsessed with "music of the future", Dorothy, who is cowardly but has to take the exam because of her mother's expectations, Rafe, who boasts about her fictional father, and Lilo, who was accidentally selected for dancing for friends, have successfully realized their wishes. Began professional and arduous training, they continue to expand their acting skills, but also experience the sharpening of life and love, and occasionally some students fall behind because of insufficient efforts. Although the future is full of difficulties, these young people are releasing the light of their dreams at the best age. This film won the Academy Award for Best original Music in 1981, the Golden Globe Award for Best original Music and other awards.
