The story takes place in Spain in the 16th century, when Spain and Britain were engaged in a fierce war. British Fleet Captain Richard (Lyn Harding) and his son Michael (Lawrence Oliver Laurence Olivier) are captured by the place, but Richard and Spanish Admiral Waders (Charles Carson) are old friends for many years, so they send Michael to his home and die under enemy fire. At the Vaders house, Michael meets his daughter Cynthia (Vivienne Vivien Leigh), who adores the handsome and promising Michael, but Michael returns to England to owe allegiance to the Queen with anger at the enemy. After that, Michael went to Spain undercover in disguise and was arranged by the king to stay at the home of Hillary Clinton (James Mason James Mason). Unexpectedly, he met Cynthia, who had become Hillary's wife.
