Xi Jiajing (Takeshi Kitano) is a policeman whose daughter died unfortunately a few years ago, and now his wife (Kishimoto Kashiko) suffers from leukemia at an advanced stage. He was kindly asked to visit his wife's partner, Horibe (Miyama), and was seriously injured during the mission, leaving his lower body paralyzed and accompanied by a wheelchair. Later, Xi mishandled in an arrest operation, which led to the death of the younger generation Tanaka (Luchuan Cheng). He resigned, thinking of supporting Tanaka's widowed wife (played by Yuko), approaching and comforting his old friend Horibe, and the underworld chased him for interest, all of which made Xi feel overwhelmed. He decided to take risks, do something risky and put an end to everything. Finally, Xi accompanied his wife on a trip with no way back.
