Although he has a formal girlfriend, Lake can feel warmth and sexual interest only in the elderly. His nurse mother found a job in a nursing home, and Lake became a volunteer there, spending a lot of time with the elderly. However, he found that the hospital managed the elderly through forced injections of psychotropic substances, and one of the grandfathers, Pea body, had been resisting the effects of the drugs, and he established an extraordinarily close relationship with Lake.
