1965 was the era of Martin Luther King and the Black Panther Party, the Beatles and the Vietnam War, and whites ruled the world in basketball. High school women's basketball coach Don Hodgins (Josh Lucas) is hired by Texas Western University, although the salary offered is not high-the family can only stay in the boys' dormitory temporarily, and the funding from the board of directors is not enough to attract high-level athletes, but because he is going to coach a team in the first Division of the NCAA (American College League Championship). Hodgins took on and immediately launched an extensive search for black players with his assistants. The coaching staff has successively found seven black players with outstanding talents. These players have different personalities and have their own strengths. After a warm-blooded showdown, the black and white players quickly mingled and devoted themselves to coach Hodgins' rigorous training. The difference between the occasional violations of players and the concept of basketball makes coaches and players grow up gradually. It is finally time for the start of the season. The Texas West Army triumphed all the way, facing the threat of racist violence and the contempt of some public opinion, Coach Hodgins decided to rush to the top of the road of glory with his black players.
