George Harvey Bourne (Lald Crega) is an excellent British composer. Due to the pressure of working long hours, he often enters a strange state of absence. Once he hears a discordant noise, he loses consciousness. He can't control what he's doing, and when he regains consciousness, he forgets what he did when he was lost. On one occasion, he lost his memory for a whole day, and some signs made him suspect that he had killed someone in a state of absence, so he went to the police station to consult doctor Alan Middleton (George Sanders). The doctor found no evidence that he was suffering from pain, and advised him to relax, not to immerse himself in the world of music all the time, and to enjoy more entertainment activities of ordinary people. He followed the doctor's advice and went to a tavern to listen to singer Nate Langton (Linda Darnell) sing. Nate, a female singer with wolf ambition, wanted to get ahead. After knowing that George was a composer, she began to use him to compose music for herself. George got deeper and deeper in the process and finally proposed to Nate. Only to find that Nate had already agreed to someone else's proposal. When the angry George returned home, he was inadvertently given a burst of violin.
